KIYOKAWA Taiji(1919-2000) was involved in a wide range of creative activities including paintings, photography, and design. The Taiji Kiyokawa Memorial Gallery celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The gallery’s history is closely linked to the renovation of the artist’s studio-cum-residence, and his efforts to show his works at civic galleries and elsewhere. This exhibition introduces some of Kiyokawa’s most important works while looking back at the state of this building during the artist’s lifetime, and reviewing the gallery’s activities up until this point.
