The works of Tatehata Kakuzo, a representative abstract Japanese sculptor, have been donated to the Setagaya Art Museum. Tatehata pursued sculptural form with a sense of movement marked by humor and wit. His work can be appreciated by people of all ages. It is interesting to note the changes in his theme that occurred with changes in material. The work of naïve painters such as Henri Rousseau and Séraphine Louis is also presented in one section of the gallery.
