This exhibition introduces artists known as literati painters such as Taiga Ikeno and Buncho Tani, focusing on their paintings on “tanzaku,” small paper stripes, as well as Nanga Style painters like Keigetsu Matsubayashi, Kangan Ishikawa, Shinrinjin Yokoo, Rogyu Oyama, and Hakuto Katagiri. Paintings by artists who share certain characteristics with them, Ukai Uchiyama and Shin'ichi Mizuki will also be introduced. An additional section presents the wood engravings of Masuhiko Onitsuka.
