After starting to roam across Asia in 1969, Fujiwara Shinya (b. 1944) became a sensation with Wandering in India, a book of photographs later that year. This exhibition, Fujiwara’s first major museum show, presents the artist’s vivid photographs and words, which exemplify his unique social views. Based on the keyword “prayer,” the exhibition consists of approximately 200 of Fujiwara’s most notable works, which are divided into themes such as “Beginning from India”, “Toward western Europe”, “Access to contemporary Japan”, and so on.
