Kenji Ekuan is the leader of the GK Design Group, which has played an important role in modernizing Japanese lifestyle and urban space since the period of postwar recovery. GK’s work has encompassed from Yamaha motorcycles and a soy sauce dispenser for Kikkoman to the Narita Express. This group of designers has given deep thought to the relationship between people and the objects they use in everyday life, and their designs have a dimension beyond simply being functional or fashionable. Through actual products, models, prototypes, and installations, the exhibition reveals the philosophy behind the design of Kenji Ekuan and GK.
