This is the last in the Stories of Artists along the Railways series of exhibitions, which focused on railways in the Setagaya area and traced the creative work and the relationships of the artists who were active along these lines. The Odawara Express Railway (now the Odakyu Electric Railway) began running between Shinjuku to Odawara in 1927. In addition to works from the museum collection by artists associated with collectives such as the Shiro to Kuro no Kai (the White and Black Association, based in the Kyodo neighborhood) and the Chinjinkai (the Chinjin Association, located in the Seijo neighborhood), we present pieces by other artists with links to the train line such as the painters TAKAYAMA Tatsuo and YOKOO Tadanori, and the photographer ARAKI Nobuyoshi.
