Tetsuro Komai (1920-1976) is a well-known pioneer of intaglio printmaking in postwar Japan. This exhibition features the collection of over 500 prints formed by Yoshiharu Fukuhara, honorary chairman of the Shiseido Company, for whom Komai had great respect. The Fukuhara Collection contains many valuable early works and color monotypes as well as Komai’s best-known prints. We hope you will enjoy the world of Komai’s prints, which has been described as “a more real dream than an actual dream.”
