The Setagaya Art Museum has amassed a collection of works based on three genres: naïve art, art with links to the Setagaya area, and contemporary art. This exhibition, commemorating the facility’s 30th anniversary, takes the form of five stories, made up of works from a variety of eras and genres, ranging from naïve to contemporary art. When one realizes that everyday life and the act of creative expression are loosely connected, the initially familiar works shine with a new brilliance.
