Mori Ogai's Daughter and Kobori Shiro: A Single Path

Overview

Kobori Shiro met Mori Ogai's second daughter Annu when he taught her how to paint in oils. He married her in 1934 with artist Fujishima Takeji as intermediary and established a studio in Umegaoka in Setagaya. This exhibition is being held simultaneously with “A Father's Gift: Mori Ogai and His Daughters” (October 2 – November 28), an exhibition organized by the Setagaya Literary Museum. A print series, Circus, by Georges Rouault is also on display.
