Hanamori Yasuji and Kurashi no Techo (Handbook for Living)

Overview

Hanamori Yasuji (1911-1978), the chief editor of Kurashi no Techo, was a multi-talented journalist and designer. This exhibition showcases his unique design work, including original paintings for the cover of Kurashi no Techo as well as advertisements for the magazine carried in newspapers and hung in commuter trains. The work of naïve painter Andre Bauchant(1873-1958) is also exhibited.
