Colors and Shapes - Japanese paintings & crafts

Overview

An exhibition focused on Japanese-style paintings and craft objects. Section 1 is devoted to the work of Kitaoji Rosanjin. Section 2 shows Japanese-style paintings, including the work of Takayama Tatsuo and the repaired “Homage to Konin” by Yoshida Yoshihiko, and the masterpieces of textiles by Yamada Mitsugi. “Thinking Fondly of Paris: The Komai Tetsuro Collection” in the small, fan-shaped exhibition room presents intaglio prints beloved of Komai Tetsuro, including the work of his mentor Hasegawa Kiyoshi as well as Charles Méryon and Rodolphe Bresdin.
