Overview

Boys' Detective Gang: Adventure Story Picture Scroll by Tadanori Yokoo for the Heibon Punch Generation.

From the 1960s to the present, Yokoo Tadanori (1936 - ) has created many colorful and adventurous works in the two fields of graphic design and oil painting. The title Adventure King" is more appropriate to Yokoo than any other artist. This exhibition fully conveys the appeal of Yokoo, the "Adventure King", through new paintings based on mystery writer Edogawa Ranpo's Boys' Detective Gang series and Jules Verne's adventure novels as well as original art for underground theater posters made in the 1960s and 1970s and original art for illustrations published in Heibon Punch and other magazines (many shown for the first time). "
