About the Museum’s Collections

The Setagaya Art Museum has collected about 16,000 works of art from Japan and other countries, focusing primarily on modern and contemporary art. At the center of this collection are works of naïve and outsider art, and by artists with connections to Setagaya. The museum is also home to an extensive collection of works by Rosanjin Kitaoji, who exercised his talents in fields ranging from calligraphy to ceramics.
